SHS– Baseplates, Top Plates & Single Cleats

Our SHS-Baseplate cleats have 3 different configurations, refer images below for these configurations, each type is designed to suit differing SHS post sizes.
A slide show of our SHS-Baseplate, Top Plate and Single cleats products can be viewed on the left.

SHS – Baseplates are ideal for supporting shs columns either embedded into concrete piers or on top of concrete pads or piers.
The baseplates can be supplied in 2 hole rectangular, 4 hole square or 2 hole corner forms with baseplate thicknesses of 8,10,12,16 & 20mm as well as dimensions to suit all shs columns. 2 or 4 off drilled holes for chemset fixings can also be supplied in the baseplates or even zero holes if required suitable when you embed the shs post into your pier footing..
Either weld, tek or both tek screw and weld these baseplates to the shs columns. N.B If using these baseplates on top of a slab or concrete pier it is recommended to also weld the baseplate down the vertical 5mm gap on both sides of the post and leave a 5mm gap at the bottom if a drainage outlet hole is required.
Provide a minimum 4 teks per column baseplate and then if required (refer above) provide a 5mm weld in between the 5mm gap between the 2 C-channels on the baseplate the SHS columns sit between.
It is good practice to drill a 5mm hole each side of the end of the column for drainage, so if welding leave a 5mm gap from the top of the baseplate before you start your weld to the top of the 2 C-channels each side of the column.
N.B you can use these baseplates as top plates on top of the post as well just reverse the plate upside down and tek and weld to the post – refer Top Plate images above.
